1. General Principle
ReturnKaro's Services involve professional work performed by Chartered Accountants (CAs) on your behalf. Because this work begins as soon as your case is assigned and your documents are reviewed, refund eligibility depends on the stage your filing has reached at the time of your cancellation request.
2. Refund Eligibility by Stage

3. Non-Refundable Situations
Refunds will not be provided where:
- The delay or issue arose because you provided incomplete, inaccurate, or delayed documents/information
- You missed a scheduled deadline for reviewing or approving your return without valid reason
- The return has already been filed, regardless of subsequent changes you wish to make
- You are dissatisfied with a legitimate professional judgment made by the assigned CA within applicable tax law (in such cases, please raise the concern through our support team for review)
- The service was used in violation of our Terms of Service (e.g., fraudulent or misleading information)
4. Errors Caused by ReturnKaro or the CA
If a filing error is demonstrably caused by ReturnKaro or the assigned CA (and not by inaccurate information you provided), we will, at our discretion:
- Correct the error through a revised return at no additional cost, and/or
- Offer a partial or full refund depending on the nature and impact of the error
5. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund or cancellation:
- Contact our support team at support@returnkaro.com with your registered email/mobile number and order/transaction ID
- Clearly state the reason for your refund request
- Our team will review your request and respond within 7 business days
6. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds will be credited to your original payment method within 15 business days, subject to processing timelines of your bank or payment provider. ReturnKaro is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment gateways once a refund has been initiated.
7. Plan Changes and Upgrades
If you upgrade to a higher-tier service (e.g., adding advisory support or a more complex filing category) after initial payment, you will be charged the difference. Downgrades after work has begun on the higher tier are not eligible for a refund of the difference.
8. Government Fees and Third-Party Charges
Any statutory fees, penalties, or charges levied by the Income Tax Department or other government bodies are not covered by this Refund Policy and are the responsibility of the taxpayer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and will apply to purchases made after the update.
